Day 1: Tarangire National Park

You will be picked up from your accommodation and you will travel to Tarangire National Park, where you will do a game drive. The name of this national park originates from the Tarangire river that crosses the park. This river is also the primary source of freshwater for the animals during the annual dry season in Tanzania. During the dry season, many animals migrate to Tarangire, looking for water and green grass. But even during the rainy season, Tarangire is habitat for many animal species, which makes Tarangire a good travel destination throughout the whole year. Tarangire is probably the most famous for its impressive number of elephants and Baobab trees. Tarangire is also home to over 550 bird species, which makes the park a popular attraction for birdwatchers. During your safari you will be served lunch. After the game drive in Tarangire, you will travel to your accommodation, where you will be served dinner and where you will stay overnight.
